Frequent questions about UV tops
Yes, our UV-protective t-shirts and UV-protective tops are specially designed to be worn in the water when your children go swimming. Their UPF 50+ certified UV-protective fabric maintains its level of protection even when wet. Only the exposed parts of the body (face, hands, legs) require the application of mineral sunscreen.
This is generally not necessary under our UV-protective clothing and UV-protective bikini/swim tops provided they are in good condition and fit well. Don't forget to apply a suitable sunscreen to all exposed areas of your daughter or son, paying close attention to areas where they move (neckline, wrists).
To ensure your child's comfort in their UV-protection t-shirt, we recommend choosing the larger size, unless otherwise indicated on the product page. For UV-protection clothing and swimwear, please prioritize their height in centimeters over their age in our size guide.
A simple cotton t-shirt only blocks a tiny fraction of the sun's rays (UPF rating of about 5) and loses all effectiveness once wet. Conversely, a genuine UV-protection t-shirt features a very tight weave and technical fibers certified UPF 50+ (blocking more than 98% of UVA and UVB rays), ensuring maximum, long-lasting sun protection for girls and boys, both on the sand and in the water.
