Which swimsuit for expectant mothers?

Being pregnant doesn't mean you can't enjoy the beach, the pool or the waterfront. Whatever your tastes and desires, there is bound to be a swimsuit that will nicely highlight your new shape. Classic or maternity swimsuit, one-piece, two-piece or tankini, which swimsuit will you choose for this summer?

The swimsuit, an accomplice throughout your pregnancy

There's no need to wait for summer to enjoy your swimsuit! It can accompany you throughout your pregnancy to enjoy the beneficial effects of water. Along with walking, water aerobics, yoga, swimming is one of the physical activities you can do throughout your pregnancy. Water also has a calming effect, promising great moments of relaxation! A swimsuit is therefore one of the few accessories that are essential for future moms to have a beautiful pregnancy.

Pregnancy swimsuit or classic swimsuit?

You don't have to choose your swimsuit from among the maternity wear. If you've already spotted a style you like among the classic swimsuits, you may well succumb to it. Just make sure you go up a size or two from your usual size. Make sure that the model you choose is comfortable, i.e. that the bra provides good support. If you choose a two-piece, choose a low-waisted bottom, which will naturally fit under your belly, or on the contrary a panty with a very high waist, in the spirit of the pin-ups of the 50s.

During pregnancy, a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit?

Deciding whether to wear a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit is primarily a matter of taste. Some women are very proud to show off their rounded belly while others prefer to hide it. To each her style and her desires! The stage of pregnancy is also important. At the beginning of pregnancy, it is common to continue to wear a two-piece if you are used to it, while later on a one-piece swimsuit is often considered more suitable and more comfortable. It's up to you!

The use you will make of your swimsuit is also important. If you like to swim a lot, the one-piece will give you a lot of freedom of movement and will probably be more practical than a two-piece. If, on the other hand, you plan to use your swimsuit only for lounging, a bikini is just right. In any case, you should choose a model that provides good support for your chest, avoiding, for example, models with small straps to tie around the neck. If you choose a bikini, models that tie at the sides are smart because the knots allow you to adapt the size of your swimsuit to the evolution of your morphology over the months.

The tankini, the ideal pregnancy swimsuit?

The tankini is undoubtedly the model that appeals to everyone, both the one-piece and the two-piece fans. The tankini is a bit of both. It also has the merit of being comfortable and pretty. This swimsuit consists of a top that covers the entire upper body, including the belly, and a low-cut bottom, a perfect model for expectant mothers, whether for swimming, walking on the beach, resting in a deckchair, or even for a bike ride, with shorts worn over it. If you like pin-up style, you'll love the retro tankinis and their lovely prints for an irresistible sexy-chic look.

Beachwear, a good option during your pregnancy

If you're not particularly fond of your new curves, then beachwear is for you. They allow you to continue to enjoy the beach or the pool while giving you a chic look! Check out beach dresses and tunics to see if there are any styles you might like. Pareos and wrap skirts are also your best friends. You can tie them around your waist as soon as you get out of the water. These must-have pieces of your summer wardrobe also have the advantage of being able to easily adapt to the evolution of your morphology. In addition, they are so pretty, they can even follow you off the beach, to shop at the market or go to dinner at a restaurant, for example.

Whichever model you choose, always enjoy the sun with caution, preferably wearing swimsuits and UV-resistant beachwear, and applying SPF 50+ sunscreen to your face and exposed body parts. Also, avoid exposure during the hottest part of the day. To prevent the appearance of a pregnancy mask, protect your face by wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Also remember to wear glasses to protect your eyes! Have a great summer!
