From dawn to dusk, UV swimwear protects your children

As soon as the sun comes out, we all want to get out and enjoy the sun. It's good for the mood and for getting plenty of vitamin D! However, exposure to the sun can be dangerous, especially for children. Between fun and risk, what actions should be taken to allow children to enjoy the sun while protecting their fragile skin?

Why are children particularly sensitive to the sun?

At birth, each child has a sun capital that allows him or her to tan without too much risk. Unfortunately, this is quickly depleted. By the age of 18, a teenager has already lost half of it! Since children's skin is thinner and more fragile than adults', and the cells that produce melanin are less efficient, they are also more exposed than their parents to getting a sunburn. Inadequately protected during childhood, they risk paying a high price in adulthood: premature aging, skin cancer, etc. It is better to avoid all this by protecting them now!

Teaching children to protect themselves from the sun is simple!

By teaching children to protect themselves from the sun at an early age, they can develop good habits right away that will last a lifetime. Just as toddlers are taught about road hazards and household risks, they can be taught the right behaviors to enjoy the sun while limiting the risks to their skin and eyes: don't stay in the sun too long, get into the habit of wearing UV-resistant clothing, a hat and sunglasses, apply SPF 50+ sunscreen to exposed areas of the body, and stay in the shade between 12 and 4 p.m. - that's the bottom line!

Every hour of the day, a UV protection item for your toddler

Before the age of one, baby stays in the shade. After that, he or she can start to go out in the sun for the first time, but with caution. This means wearing UV protective clothing, which is much more protective than regular baby clothes. For example, a simple T-shirt has a protection factor of 4, compared to 50 for a Canopea UV protective suit! This speaks for itself. So, as soon as the sun shines, baby should preferably go out in the morning and evening, and never without his little Canopea UV protective suit! Long or short sleeved, with a lovely ruffle or a wrap-around back, your little one will protect his/her sun capital in his sun protective swimsuit!

A beautiful morning in the sun for well protected children

This morning, the whole family planned to go fishing. The children love to pick up snails and whelks, and have fun dislodging the crabs hidden under the rocks. With their nets, they will fill their baskets with delicious shellfish. At least, we will know what to eat this evening for the dinner! The day is looking very beautiful, the sun is already shining, but the morning rays are still soft enough to preserve the fragile skins of Charlotte and Arthur.

The boy is wearing his UV-striped shorts and a color-coordinated Canopea short-sleeved tee. What class, Arthur! And Charlotte in her short-sleeved tee and her bikini bottom with indigo blue UV ruffles, her new favorite color since the beginning of the summer! After this fishing trip, the whole family is headed for a picnic in the pine forest. Under the cool shade of the tall trees, it's the perfect place to play hide and seek !

The joys of the beach with sun protective swimwear for children

4 pm ! For Arthur and Charlotte, it's time for a swim. Arthur is wearing Canopea peach skin shorts, and his sister is wearing a delicious one-piece swimsuit with ruffles. Charlotte loves the frills! The more the better! After swimming, the children are used to protecting themselves with a SPF 50+ sun cream, which they apply on the exposed parts of their body and reapply every 2 hours. Well, they still need to be reminded from time to time, but overall, they understand the importance of protecting their skin from the sun, especially with their light skin tone!

Of course, they both have hats to properly protect their heads, necks and faces. It's a beautiful straw hat for Charlotte, and a bob for Arthur. A pair of sunglasses completes their sun protected look. In the middle of the afternoon, it is the perfect time to build a wonderful sand castle. It is also the moment when we leave our little builders with their shovel and their bucket, and decide to settle in the shade of the parasol, to enjoy this novel that we swore to finish before the end of the vacations!
