Teen boys' UV-protective swim shorts: comfort and style from beach to water
Teen boys' UV-protective swim shorts are a summer wardrobe essential for moving straight from swimming to activities on the sand. Their relaxed cut, quick-drying fabric and understated colours let every teenager express his style with ease. At Canopea, our designs combine high, certified UPF 50+ fabric protection on covered areas with soft, responsibly selected materials for every day of the holidays.
A cut designed to follow every movement
Good boys' beach shorts should allow plenty of movement for swimming, jumping in the waves and playing beach volleyball. An elasticated waistband with a drawstring provides a secure fit without squeezing the stomach.
Made from ECONYL®, a 100% regenerated fibre produced from recycled fishing nets, our shorts are lightweight, resistant to salt and chlorine, and quick-drying. To find the right fit during growth, use the waist measurement and height in our size guide rather than age alone.
UPF 50+ protection and versatile outfits
All our shorts provide a physical barrier that blocks more than 98% of UVA and UVB rays, without chemical UV filters.
As the upper body and lower legs remain exposed, complete the outfit with a short- or long-sleeved teen boys' UV-protective swim top to help protect your teenager's skin over time. Frequently asked questions about teen boys' UV-protective swim shorts
How can I choose the right size of teen swim shorts?
Measure your son's current waist and height and compare them with our size guide. Boys' swim shorts should fit securely around the hips while leaving plenty of room around the thighs when sitting or jumping.
What is the difference between Canopea boys' and men's swim shorts?
If your teenager is between junior and adult sizes, men's shorts have a roomier fit around the thighs, a mesh lining and functional pockets, unlike boys' styles designed for slimmer junior proportions.
Should a UV-protective top be worn with teen beach shorts?
Yes. Shorts cover the hips and upper thighs but leave the torso and arms exposed. Pairing them with a teen UPF 50+ swim top is particularly useful during longer periods outdoors, surfing or paddleboarding, helping protect the skin without repeated sunscreen application beneath the covered areas.
How should I care for ECONYL® swim shorts to preserve their colours?
Rinse the shorts in cool fresh water immediately after the beach or pool to remove salt, sand and chlorine. Machine wash on a delicate cycle at no more than 30°C and lay them flat to dry in the shade. Avoid tumble drying and do not leave them wet at the bottom of a bag.
